Custom All arranged Trip hosted by max

  • Experience the Ultimate Custom Fly Fishing Adventure with Max

Join me, Max, a lifelong and well-traveled fly fisherman, for a truly personalized and unforgettable week-long fly fishing experience in the heart of Mexico or Belize. Having grown up casting lines in the vibrant waters of Mexico and the Caribbean, I've dedicated countless years to mastering the art of pursuing saltwater tropical species – from powerful tarpon and elusive bonefish to aggressive snook and everything in between.

This isn't just a fishing trip; it's a meticulously planned adventure tailored to your desires. I'll personally arrange every detail, from comfortable accommodations and seamless local travel to expert guided boat days with the most knowledgeable local captains. You'll spend five full days targeting the region's most sought-after game fish, immersed in stunning tropical environments. My deep understanding of these waters, combined with my extensive network of local guides, ensures an unparalleled fishing experience. All you need to do is show up, cast, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Hand-Picked Destinations: My Personal Favorites, Fished at Their Peak

I've personally chosen these destinations because they represent some of the most phenomenal fly fishing experiences on the planet – places I return to year after year during their absolute peak seasons, when I know the bite is on. You'll be fishing these waters with guides who are not just experts, but often personal friends and colleagues from my many years in these regions.

    • Isla Holbox, Mexico (August is Prime): A true tarpon mecca. This laid-back island paradise, where the Gulf of Mexico meets the Caribbean, is where I've spent countless hours chasing silver kings. In August, the giant migratory tarpon are concentrated, offering heart-stopping sight-fishing opportunities for these acrobatic fish, alongside resident juvenile tarpon and snook in the serene backcountry mangroves. It's a truly special place to experience the raw power of a hooked tarpon.

    • Ambergris Caye, Belize (May or November is Key): The iconic flats of Ambergris Caye offer world-class opportunities for the "Grand Slam" of bonefish, tarpon, and permit. I've found May to be fantastic for active fish on the flats with generally calm conditions, while November brings strong tarpon numbers and larger schools of jacks. This diverse fishery provides constant action and the challenge of stalking wary permit.

    • Xcalak, Quintana Roo, Mexico (Springtime for Permit): For the ultimate challenge, Xcalak is my go-to for permit. The untouched flats of Chetumal Bay are legendary, and during springtime, the conditions align perfectly for sight-fishing these notoriously difficult, tailing permit on floating crab patterns. This is where precision casting and patience are rewarded with the ultimate flats prize. My trusted local guides here are masters at putting you on these elusive fish.

    • Columbia Valley & Kootenay Region, BC (August or early Fall is Prime): Moving from saltwater flats to the majestic mountains, the Kootenay Region of British Columbia is home to some of North America's most impressive freshwater species. I return here annually during the ideal windows to target massive Bull Trout – aggressive, piscivorous chars that demand large streamers. You'll also have the chance to hook into big Lake Trout from the depths and feisty Cutthroat Trout on dry flies in the pristine rivers and lakes, all set against a backdrop of breathtaking wilderness.

  • Due to the highly personalized nature of these exclusive trips, the price will vary. Factors such as your chosen destination, the specific time of year to hit the peak bite, the duration of your stay, and your preferred level of accommodation all play a role. Please inquire to learn more, and I'll be happy to provide a detailed quote tailored to your dream fly fishing adventure.
